Gray is a doctoral candidate in the School of International Relations at the University of St Andrews. Their research rests at the intersections of queer ecology, political philosophy and critical animal studies.
Titled (Be-)Coming Across Animal, the research project to which they dedicate their studies analyses the links between non-human animal identification and ecological promise. In collaboration with queer countercultures (whether “queer” in identity, philosophy, or politic), their thesis seeks to imagine new ways of mobilising radical non-violence and ecocentrism by becoming animal.
